What do you think of the book series Artemis Fowl?

Please don't write down any major spoilers, but I planning on reading the book. I been looking for a good book to read and Artemis Fowl sounds great. :-D Can you guys tell me why this may be a good book to read and can you describe Artemis a little bit? Add details! ^_^
